One Step Forward...

Hi, everyone! It's Linda this time. I thought this blog would be written from Boston this evening, but that is not the case. When we consulted on the phone this morning with Virginia, the nurse practitioner, and told her of my condition at this point, she suggested that maybe we delay the next round for a week so that I could be in a stronger position when starting next Monday. If we just delayed it a day this week, it would cause their weekend staff to be off schedule. I was still feeling rather weak and tired this morning, so I agreed that delaying a week would give me a better chance all around for the next round of treatments.
Of course all this meant changing airplane and hotel reservations, both for us and the kids who were going to come in shifts this week. Jim has been so patient in doing all this. Thank goodness I have him to take care of all of the details!
So now I have a few days to stay home, rest, and try to EAT to get my strength back. I really haven't f
elt like eating anything this week, so now I'm hoping to enjoy the good meals in the refrigerator downstairs, made by wonderful friends and neighbors. As always, thanks for every act, whether small or large that any of you have done for our family. There's no thank you note big enough to include all of our appreciation and love.
Linda and Jim

I'm glad you'll be good and strong to give it all you got next week. Thank you for all you are doing. I know it has been hard and frustrating, but remember these side effects are only temporary and are necessary for your healing. I love you so much! Can't wait to see you next week.

Hi Jim & Linda,
I'm glad that you will be staying home for an extra week to regain your strength - BUT you will miss all of the excitement when the Red Sox win the World Series!

Take very good care and let us know if we can do anything for you at this end.

I just wanted to say that you are still in my thoughts and prayers. I check the blog each day and am glad to see you are coping with the treatment.

I was disappointed you could not go to Boston, but I have one suggestion for your free time. You could get a "Learn Spanish in 10 days" or a "Learn French, Now! on tape" and while hanging out and getting better, become fluent! Then, when you are well and you travel to another country, you can talk to the people there.

Love brittney

I know it must be hard for you to prolong the process for a week but deep down I am relieved to know you have one more week to gain strength. You looked pretty wiped out the day I was there.
Use this time to EAT, Sleep, EAT some more, watch tennis, EAT some more : ) Love ya
Pam

Linda,
Just wondering if you can eat that great Wendy's chili that you love so much! What about Graeter's? What's your favorite flavor? What is your dream food? I remember how you kept us all fed with comfort foods with Mom in the hospital. I would like to comfort you. Did you get any of that cheesy potato soup that Jim bought Saturday? Just mix the two together and top with the bacon bits. It is pretty much like O'Charley's. What can I do for you?
Love and prayers,
Tim and Mary Anne

Love the picture of your zip lining in Alaska!! You have the spirit of an adventurer. I see where Andrea gets her spirit. During this week rest, eat and walk as if you are preparing for another Alaskan adventure!!
I saw Andrea over the weekend. She has the same classy spirit of her Mom. She and Chris are so supportive of each other.God bless.
